A Message from the Loon Preservation Committee

Greetings lakes region loon watchers!

The Loon Preservation Committee field season officially began this week. My name is Lindsay Moulton and I am returning as the lakes region field biologist for the summer. I am very excited to be back for another season!

This is my second season with the Loon Preservation Committee. As I said, I am very excited to be back. I enjoyed the work so much last year, and am ready for another eventful season!

I’m looking forward to being in touch with you as I start my surveys.
Please let me know if you observe any of the following key events: pair
return/presence this spring, nest initiation, nest hatch or failure, and
chick survival to mid-August. Other important observations you should let me know about immediately include dead or injured loons, or the need for nest signs on your lake. Please feel free to send any other updates and photos throughout the field season. We here at LPC would not be able to do our great work without your wonderful help!

I’m looking forward to seeing you again sometime soon!

Thank you,

Lindsay Moulton
