Letter From the Water Quality Committee

Letter From the Water Quality Committee

The Water Quality Committee is a group of volunteers who share a concern about the health of our lake. Reports provided to LWIA members speak about the causes for the decline in the lake quality, if that is the case,  and will include suggestions for how each of us…

Why Use Phosphate-Free Cleaners When You Live on a Lake?

Why Use Phosphate-Free Cleaners When You Live on a Lake?

A large number of household detergents and cleaning agents contain components called phosphates, which have been known to cause environmental hazards. The most controversial uses involve dish-washing and laundry detergents, and some states have imposed restrictions or bans on their use. Kayak & Canoe Race a Hit at 2012 Derby

Kayak & Canoe Race a Hit at 2012 Derby

The Kayak & Canoe Race, held on September 1, was a huge success, and quite a site the 10 minutes prior to race to watch so many kayakers paddling in from all sides of the lake. Unfortunately, I did a terrible job of getting names of the kayakers. My apologies for not getting this posted sooner. Please feel free to email me or post a comment to this blog if you recognize anyone in the photos.
