We will kick off our Lake Winona Lake Host Program Saturday, June 3. Last year, thanks to the efforts of paid and volunteer Lake Hosts, 68 complimentary boat and watercraft inspections were conducted at Lake Winona’s boat launch. Statewide, the NH Lake Host program conducted a total of 88,906 courtesy boat inspections and made 28 ‘saves’ of aquatic invasive species by 803 Lake Hosts staffing 104 boat ramps statewide! The new ‘Clean & Drain’ law, initiated by NH Lakes, went into effect on January 1, 2017. Now all recreational boaters are essentially required to: Clean off all hitchhiking fragments of plants, animals, and debris on the outside of vessel before leaving a launch (this applies to invasive and native species) Drain their  boats before leaving the ramp (this includes paddle craft and non-motorized boats, too) Open/remove drain plugs while trailering (if the vessel is equipped with drain plugs).
