The LWIA’s Summer Social and Potluck lunch will be held on Saturday, August 15, at noon. The Anchorage Lodge has once again graciously offered their location for the event, which will allow us to host the event rain or shine. I’m planning to do a cookout and NH Music Festival concert again this year. I’ll be doing it on July 23rd, the program for the evening is Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Schubert’s Symphony #3, and Glass’s Company for String Orchestra. The NH DES has identified 14 exotic aquatic plants that are prohibited in New Hampshire due to their abilities to choke surface waters, harm native vegetation and wildlife, impact recreation, and lower property values. Thankfully, Lake Winona has not been infiltrated by an exotic species. The Kayak & Canoe Race, held on August 16, was a huge success and a showdown between the Islanders and the Anchorage. Racers met at Ted & Donna Saia’s dock on West Shore Rd.
