Pat Tarpey, Executive Director of the Lake Winnipesaukee Watershed Association (LWWA), presented at our Association’s June 21, 2014, meeting about the LWWA’s initiative to update the 2005 Waukewan Watershed Management Plan. On Saturday, September 7th, a LakeFest will be held at Endicott Rock Park in the Weirs. The Festival is free and open to the public; parking is free too. Festival happenings (mid morning – 4:00 pm) include live music from from The O’Brien Clan and The Floods. Accomplished storyteller Gail Druker will capture the attention of multiple generations. The Waukewan and Winona Watershed Protective Association will be presenting “The State of the Loon” with speaker, Harry Vogel, Senior Biologist and Executive Director of the Loon Preservation Committee at its second summer seminar on Thursday, August 21, 2013 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Meredith Community Center on Route 3 in Meredith. The LWIA’s Summer Social and Potluck lunch will be held on Saturday, August 17, at noon. The Anchorage Lodge has graciously offered their location for the event, which will allow us to host the event rain or shine. We’ll eat promptly at 12:15, then review a few business matters at 1 pm.
